STEM Grants For Teachers
$49,750 awarded for 61 STEM Grants serving more than 11,000 students!
In this fifth cycle of the TEF STEM Grants Initiative, fifty-five TUSD teachers received a total of $49,750 for 61 qualifying STEM Initiative projects to be held during the 2018-2019 academic year, bringing the totals to date to 230 projects funded and $185,750 in grant funds awarded to teachers.
Because academic success in the 21st century cannot be achieved without a keen appreciation for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics, TEF in 2014 launched its STEM Initiative to assist teachers in providing exciting, engaging opportunities for students of all ages to explore these subjects and develop their proficiency and capability.
Initiated to provide funding for five target programs – Family STEM Nights, Math Counts, Science Olympiad, After-school Engineering, and First Lego League/Robotics – TEF STEM Initiative Grants has grown to and expanded to provide funds to teachers at all grade levels support the following seven targeted programs that build curiosity, develop STEM knowledge and skills, involve parents, and encourage both individual and team endeavor:

CyberPatriots Coding Club
Hour of Code
Family STEM Night
